Gleeful Discontent

My name is Marie. I like to think about stuff and occasionally write it down somewhere.

The delightful Stevie Jackson and Honey Bunch share the stage @Chickfactor 2012, The Bell House, Brooklyn - 12 April 2012
So pleased that I managed to make my way to NYC on the last night of the Chickfactor anniversary shows.
That said, it was a little weird in retrospect as the crowd seemed a bit lacklustre in demonstrating their appreciation for the gorgeous sounds delivered so earnestly. Also,  I’m pretty sure my friend and I were the only ones drinking alcohol. Is appropriating straight edge behaviours a thing in the NYC indie pop scene? I’m used to indie pop shows packed with rowdy lushes and I have to say that I much prefer it that way.
